along with a tagging/categorizing/grouping system, the ability to individually schedule SUBTASKS would be huge, allowing someone to breakdown big projects and work on them a little each day

In addition to individually scheduling SUBTASKS, make it easier to move up and down the SUBTASK list. I can’t do it at all now. The SUBTASK just disappears if I try. There used to be an unknown sweet spot of clicking that would allow me to move a SUBTASK up or down.

^^^this^^^ is also very important to me and makes sense the way I plan my projects logistically. @structured Y’all should check out an old app called above and beyond that would basically schedule things for you if you set priorities for it and set up your time constraints. It would even let you time particular tasks as well as color code them. I have not been able to find anything like this, so if anyone knows of something, please let me know!

+1. The inbox is an important place for when you might not know exactly when you want to do something, but you still want to be able to keep those items organized with some sort of tag or category system.

I would love to have some way of organising my inbox. It gets so overwhelming. I currently prefer to just keep things I plan to do that day in there, but it would be good to be able to just dump anything in there and then be able to sort by category or tags.

I think a tag system would be great for this purpose. Or Projects and Areas like what Things 3 has. It would help us to break down larger tasks into sub-tasks which even themselves might have sub-tasks nested within them. Currently we can only do one layer of nested sub-tasks, which is a minor limitation.

I had this problem today. I can schedule a "reset" and include subtasks but when adding "pull data" into subtasks I'd like to be able to list where I need to pull data from instead of listing it all as individual tasks.

Filter by Lists and Tags -and possible some other criteria-.

Include the option to sort the Inbox by Due Date, Name of Task -possibly also some other criteria-.

+1 This would be an amazing feature. Having an inbox which has a few more features would massively increase the usability of the app for me. I use a work around to create structure within the inbox, so that the tasks are shown in the following categories:

    1. Work Today

    2. Home Today

    3. Work Week

    4. Home Week

    5. Work Month

    6. Home Month

    Here's how I do it:

    1. I created 6 Apple Reminder lists named as above (using Apple reminders is critical for me, because of their deep integration in iOS - e.g. Siri, and interoperability with other apps)

    2. The first item of each Apple Reminder list is the name of the Apple Reminder list

    3. I run a complicated Apple Shortcut that I created which recursively goes through each reminder in those 6 lists, and re-creates them in reverse alphabetical order (i.e. by creating a new reminder with the same attributes and then deleting the old one). It's necessary to do it in reverse order as Structured sorts the Apple reminders by creation date (with newest at the top). I run the shortcut after I've created a reminder within Apple Reminders to resort them. However, there's limitations with using Shortcuts for reminders (e.g. they don't allow you to adjust the repetition values). Also the process takes a while to run (about 1 min).

I've attached some pictures showing the set up.

    Here's the Reminder lists:

Here's how the lists appear in Structured (before any sorting).

Here's how the lists appear in Structured (after sorting using my Apple Shortcut).

It would be great to do this natively in Structured, and have the following features:

    1. Different categories of inbox (with different colouring / icons / tags etc), with the ability to sort intra category (e.g. alpha or manual), sort between categories (e.g. alpha or manual) and search

    2. The ability to drag tasks from one category to another (e.g. dragging from "Work Today" to "Work Week", or vice versa)

    Thanks!

Yes, please! It feels so crowded to have all my tasks always in view regardless of context or timescale. I don’t want to see my personal tasks crowding the inbox while I’m at work. And I might not always want to have my “someday” tasks staring at me everytime I check to see what I need to get done for the day.

I agree! This would hugely impact the usability of this app for me. Right now I have a secondary app for organizing my projects and various responsibilities and then weekly I add tasks to my inbox I hope to accomplish that week. But it would be nice to have only one app instead of two!

Sorting by Color would also be helpful. Given that I can't group tasks created directly in Structured I assign colors for different categories (client work, internal work, personal...)

Hi! I have ADHD and just discovered the Eisenhower Matrix. It would be SUPER useful to sort the inbox!

This was found in Russell Barkley, PhD video about low tech solutions for ADHD:
